Squirrels
2 to 3 years
A room where we play and explore as we get bigger.
Children in this room are able to get involved in individually chosen activities which range from drawing and painting to sand and water play. There is a lovely home corner area for pretend play and plenty of opportunities to select toys that they are interested in.
The staff in Squirrel’s room plan a range of activities to develop play in all 6 areas of learning covered by the Early Years Foundation Stage.
A room where we still have our own daily needs met.
The children in Squirrels are able to follow their own care routine. Staff are flexible and can cater your child’s needs regarding sleeps and toilet training; we will work with parents to complement the things you do at home.
A room where we can be a little more independent.
The children in Squirrels room play outside in the main garden area. Here they can explore all the wonderful outdoor activities and can begin to access the Peter Rabbits room (3 to 5 year olds) if they choose to. They can enjoy playing with the older children with the security of their room staff nearby. The choice of indoors or outside helps with independence and allows them to play where they feel happy. This builds confidence and makes transitions to Peter Rabbits smoother.
